Subject: [bravofleet_cos] Hurricane Katrina Relief
http://forum.bravofleet.com/viewtopic.php?p=235549#235549 That link will take you to a forum announcement about Hurricane Katrina. That will provide more info that this email here most likely. Please forward this to all of your crew, and anyone else that you can think of that would be willing to give something to help the victims.
For those of you that don't know, a devasting hurricane has hit the southern part of the US. At least 65 are dead so far, and the death toll is expected to rise significantly.
There are members here in BF that have homes and loved one's in the areas hit by the hurricane.
A radio show I listen to on the way home from work ended up doing an all night broadcast last night on my way into work, organizing a relief drive. On my way home, hearing about the destruction and death, I decided I was going to try and rally the members of Bravo Fleet and their family to help out.
After a suggestion from Tauvits, I've decided to post up links to some relief organizations. If you know of anymore that I haven't listed, please post them here. Let's please keep this thread strictly about links to relief organizations so it'll be easier for people to find the links themselves. There's a thread in General about the hurricane as well, any other comments, or to say that you have donated (if you wish to announce it) please put it there.
Please try and donate what you can if at all possible.
http://www.acetj.com/ is the radio show that is organizing a drive here in NC. There's a link on their page.. it's currently down because they are getting massive hits to their site because of this, that tells you how you can donate directly to them and other info.
https://www.redcross.org/donate/donation-form.asp - Generic Red Cross donation form... you can select how the money is used like national disaster... but you can't specify exactly where... I'm sure at some point they will have more info available.
http://www.salvationarmyusa.org/ - For Hurricane Relief in 2005... again not specific to Katrina
